Hi! I'm Mike Vrobel, an enthusiastic hobbyist photographer who fell into being a pro for my food blog, DadCooksDInner. I write about finding out about photography, food, travel, and gear. (Oh, the gear...)
I've been a photographer since the I bought a Canon Rebel back in the 90's (shoutout to Andre Aggasi, and Fuji Velvia!). I switched to digital back in the 2000's. I got my first DSLR for my food blog back in 2009, my first mirrorless camera in 2014 (Fujifilm X-T1 - love the retro knobs and dials.)
I currently shoot Fujifilm, but I have a wandering eye (and a lot of Gear Acquisition Syndrome), so I have used Nikon, Canon, Panasonic, Olympus, and Sony cameras. I came back to Fujifilm a while ago, and am trying to convince myself that the grass is NOT greener on the other side of the fence, every time some shiny new piece of camera tech comes out.
My professional work is for my food blog, and has a particular style. My hobbyist photography is all over the place - travel, cityscape, landscape, birds, and the occasional street and portrait sessions.
Join me as we find out about Photography together!
