I went to Tastemaker food blogger conference in Las Vegas in January. Food blogging is my main side hustle; my professional photography is my food photography, documenting my recipes. While I was in Vegas, I had to take pictures, including...
Las Vegas Strip from Cosmopolitan Hotel

Shot with Fujifilm X-T5 and Fuji 16-55/2.8 v2
I spent a surprising amount of money to get a balcony room in The Cosmopolitan looking out over Las Vegas boulevard. (AKA "The Strip"). This shot is a time blend of multiple shots: the base is exposed for the fountain and the strip (1/10s, f/5.6, ISO 500), with a second shot bracketed for the highlights (1/80s, f/5.6, ISO 500). I had to bump the ISO to get a fast enough shutter to freeze the fountain. Then, I blended in a final two-minute long shot to get the headlight trails on Las Vegas Boulevard (2m, f/8, ISO 125). (Photoshop "lighten" blend mode is fantastic for adding traffic trails to a shot.)

This is the BTS shot of me from my hotel balcony - or at least my Fujifilm X-T5
Downtown Las Vegas

Shot with Fujifilm X-T5 and 27/2.8
My first day was a walking food tour of downtown Las Vegas, aka "Old" Las Vegas. The area around Fremont Street is fantastic, with its video canopy and a bunch of the original Las Vegas casinos. (This was back before the big casinos moved south to Paradise and Las Vegas boulevard).
Arte Museum

There is a lot to look at in Las Vegas, with visual treats everywhere. My favorite was the Arte Museum, a set of video rooms with amazing visuals. These would come through better in video, but my favorites were "Starry Beach" with a video of huge waves crashing over you, and "The Garden of Light", with its rotating interpretation of impressionist art from the Musée D'Orsay.
