Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens has a fantastic Christmas lights display, and I try to make it there every year to get pictures of the grounds.
Stan Hywet Hall was finished in 1915 as the home of F.A. Sieberling, founder of Goodyear Tire & Rubber. The hall and gardens are now a nonprofit and a historic landmark, and tours are available throughout the year. But Deck the Halls is my favorite time to visit, when the hall and grounds are lit with a fantastic holiday display.
Deck The Hall sells out closer to Christmas, and especially weekends, so I order my tickets ahead of time. I got lucky this year; my tickets were the day after a big snowstorm, so I got a bunch of great "'covered with snow" shots. The inside of the Hall is amazing to see, but I find it too crowded for photography during Deck The Hall, so I stick to the outdoors.
No tripods are allowed, and the best photos are at night, so I'm trusting IBIS and OIS to keep these pictures sharp. Most are on my Fujifilm X-T5 with 10-24/4, 1600 to 3200 ISO with 1/15 shutter and f/4.0 aperture. (I can handhold that combo easily down to 1/15". If I turn on burst mode and hold really still, I can usually get a sharp shot down to ¼". Modern IBIS/OIS is amazing.)
