Trumpeter Swans

Road trip! I went for some bird photography with Jackie Perchinske and Bev TKTK at Ottawa National Wildlife Reserve. It was a brutally windy day, but hey, it's February in Ohio.

We could hear lots of sandhill cranes, saw a bunch of bald eagles - they both nest here, but they did their best to stay far away from our cameras. Still, it was good to get out and shoot, even with the weather fighting us.

Ottawa is great for birds all year round; wander around the pools or take one of the nature trails. There is a good overview of birding at Ottawa at The Friends of Ottawa NWR website.
